Nice moves up yesterday . . .
. . . but most everything is still kinda oversold.
It'll take more "up" to get me off the sidelines.
Still waiting.

A little break . . .
I'm gonna take a break (for at least another day) from making picks.
There is, in my view, a titanic struggle between bull and bear going on right now, and any picks, long or short, stand too much of a chance of getting whipsawed.
Until it is clear to me whether this is just a shakeout in the bull, or the beginnings of the bear a la 2000-01-02, I'm pretty much gonna stand aside.
I'll be back when I can see some direction.

More big picture than just a loser list . . .
First, the Naz and the dow are at some long term support--for now.
The VIX made a nice little spike.
And the CRB is at the bottom of a long term channel.
All this makes a case for a nice bounce--but if it doesn't happen soon--REAL SOON--we could go a lot lower.
I'm pretty much waiting to see which way the next 5% goes--up or down.

Another Jaloti alert
Again, there will be a loser list tomorrow, but "This is a time for concern, but not for worry" in the words of the fortune cookie.
I see a number of charts that have pulled back to support, but even more that just keep falling thru support.
I've been perplexed that metals have fallen along with the general markets, but at the risk of engaging in useless chatter, I think there's a couple different things going on.
Gold, especially, ran up so far so fast that a correction is in order; and at least in this case, this is a reasonable correction, and could correct further even and still be healthy.
A lot of equities, however, have gone beyond a healthy, reasonable correction, and are concerning.
Be very very careful.

Special Jaloti Alert
I'm going to have a short loser list tomorrow.
Nevertheless, I'm going to be REALLY cautious about initiating new positions.
The price action has been wicked the last few days.
I'm starting to think the next few hundred points on the (fill in the blank) index might be down.
We're due for a bounce soon, but then what?
I'm waiting to see--if we turn upward, I'm a bull, otherwise . . . .
